ellesse Design Counsel Home T-shirt competition

In April 2020 we launched our Design Counsel Home T-Shirt Competition, an online t-shirt design contest hosted via our @ellesse Instagram channel.

Launched amidst the 2020 pandemic crisis, the project offered our online following the chance to submit their interoperation of an ellesse T-shirt, with the winning design officially sold via! All profits from t-shirts sold will be donated to the World Health Organization, in support of workers on the front line.

We’ve been overwhelmed with the creativity shown by everyone who entered, as well as the depth of story-telling, and use of globally relevant artwork such as the rainbow. Entrants from a range of age groups have sent us their spin on the classic tee, which include references to the importance of togetherness, resilience and community. The designs also demonstrated a clear sense of positivity, full of bold colours and striking graphics.

The ellesse #Together campaign, inspired by brand ethos ‘Together We Play’, played a large role in inspiring many of the competition’s submissions; many incorporating the theme of global togetherness into their graphics and messaging.

Following much consideration, our four finalists were put to our community for the final vote, with @chiaracalicchioo emerging as our worthy winner! Chiara’s tennis-inspired design was themed around finding new ways to be together with her messaging then paired with simple, effective use of colouring and imagery. Our other finalists included @AngelaJaneJohnston taking second place, and @__devs_patel__ and @aimeetemp1eman who took third and fourth places.

Despite only being able to offer top spots to four finalists, we are proud and excited share all entrants from our inspiring community and spur further creativity throughout self-isolation. #Together.
